ELA: Revise your speech based on today's edits/feedback.  Add in any notes you may need to remind yourself of things while presenting (look left, stand still, pause, etc.).  PRACTICE!  Tomorrow's is presentation day.  It may be a good idea to have someone 'grade' you using the practice rubric.

Period 1, 3, and 5 ONLY: Upload your speech on your blog as this will take place of the UpFront response this week.  Comment on as many speeches as you want over

Weekly Wrap Up

Students finished up their 1960's presentations in ELA.  We continued to review evolution in Science, translations/rotations/etc. in Math, and began covering chapter 6 in the History Book.

Weekly Wrap Up

ELA: This week we began working on Broadcast Group Projects.  Over the weekend continue working on your project.  On Monday groups will be compiling their collages, make sure to bring materials.

Science: We've completed our Darwin, Lamarck, and Wallace group presentations.  This week we've continued to study evolution; including the investigating common descent activity today.  Check out Mrs. Gauvin's blog for links and videos on evolution.

History: The Town Meeting is a wrap!  Students began completing the "Letters from John and Abigail Adams" packet and vocabulary worksheet today.

Tonight's Homework

ELA: Homework is explained in the NEWS BROADCAST Project Packet

• Watch the news and make note of how the anchors and reporters interact with each other (including transitions)
• Finish researching and writing down source information
• People who have to gather more information on certain topics, do that.
• Make sure you write down your source information on the start.
• Other people are typing up an outline for your presentation and watching a news broadcast form your year on the internet.

Math:

ELA: 
For preparation for the project starting tomorrow, all students in all classes are asked to do the following:

• Watch a 30 minute news broadcast of your choosing (from beginning to end) and jot down notes of how the anchors interact with each other and with the specialty people (weathermen, sports broadcaster, etc.).
• Spend some time finding highlights of each year of the 1960s so you can make the best decision for your group tomorrow on what year you want to delve into tomorrow for our research project.
• An extra credit sheet was given today.  If you choose to do it, it is due Thursday.

•   Make comments on blogging group members' freewrites
